One Of The Only Good Things About Forest Fires Are Sunsets

Forest fires pretty much completely totally stink. They take lives, destroy property and nature, strain wildlife, and make it hard to breathe. On the flipside, they often make for very pretty sunsets. This image was captured in the middle of a string of breathtaking sunsets in the summer of 2015. A vantage point from the 18th floor of a Denver highrise condo building allowed for an unobstructed westerly view. The yellow sun pierces through the haze a few moments before setting behind the Rocky Mountains.
