On the drive from Arches to Capitol Reef National Parks is Goblin Valley State Park, where hundreds of eroded hoodos are carved out of the sandstone landscape. Just like much of the scenery in the American West, the hoodoos are deceptively sized and you can only really tell once you're down among them. It's very easy to get turned around while walking around, and regular glances back towards the parking lot on the hillside above helped orient us as we explored. The title of this image comes from the movie Galaxy Quest, where a scene was filmed here.
